Founder and Former Bahamas National Softball Team Athlete
Shawnté Curtis is a former Bahamas National Softball Team member, professional instructor, and coach dedicated to transforming the future of softball in The Bahamas.
Her journey began at just five years old at Freedom Farm Baseball League, where she played baseball because opportunities for girls in softball were limited. Often the only girl on her team and in tournaments, Shawnté experienced firsthand the lack of early access and structure available to young female athletes.
After transitioning to softball at age 12, she represented The Bahamas on both the Junior and Senior National Teams and later gained coaching experience across recreational, high school, travel ball, and professional training environments.
Shawnté graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Sport Administration and has spent the past three years coaching, mentoring, and developing athletes in the U.S. and The Bahamas.
Today, through Bahamas Premier Girls Fastpitch, Shawnté is building the kind of structured, intentional, opportunity-driven softball ecosystem she wishes existed for young Bahamian girls.
"Softball changed my life. Now I want to help build a system that changes the lives of Bahamian girls for generations."
— Shawnté Curtis, Founder
Bahamas Premier is built on intentional development pillars–from how we train to how we structure each session–to help athletes grow on and off the field.
We prioritize overall athletic development–speed, coordination, strength, and body control–as the foundation for long-term success in the game.
We maintain appropriate player-to-coach ratios to ensure each athlete receives the attention, repetitions, and feedback needed to improve.
Our sessions are planned with purpose. Small groups, station work, smooth transitions, and clear practice structure help maximize every minute on the field.
We are committed to developing coaches just as intentionally as we develop players, strengthening the future of softball instruction in The Bahamas.
We create an environment where every girl feels safe and supported–surrounded by a community that invests in her growth on and off the field.
